About

The best of Indianapolis is a website dedicated to presenting the best of businesses in Indianapolis and surrounding cities and Neighborhoods

If you haven’t been to the city yet, you’ve missed out on many of the city’s great attractions. From historic buildings to world-class museums, the best of Indianapolis has something for everyone. Here are some of our favorite places in Indianapolis to make your trip unforgettable. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Old Pathology Building opened in 1865 to explore the underlying causes of mental illness. Though it closed its doors in 1960, the interior of the building is still fully intact. The historic building has amphitheaters, labs, and autopsy bats.

For family fun, Indianapolis has two great museums. The famous Children’s Museum is a must-see, and its zoo is the largest in the world. The Indianapolis Museum of Art is one of only two museums east of the Mississippi that focuses on Native America and the American West. You can cycle through downtown by renting a bike from a bike share company. Taking public transportation is another great way to explore the city, but if you’re coming by car, the Blue Line bus is a great option. The buses wind through the heart of Indianapolis, allowing you to easily access all of the major attractions.

In the museum department, you’ll find an outstanding collection of art and history. The Indianapolis Museum of Art offers several exhibits on popular sports, and there are workshops held by local artists. In addition to displaying works from famous athletes, you can learn more about the training and perseverance of today’s world-class athletes. The Museum’s History of Hoops floor allows visitors to emulate the footwork of Indiana Fever star Tamika Catching’s.
